Birth Doula Support
How I support you throughout your birth journey
What I offer as your doula…
As your birth doula, I’m here to walk alongside you with calm, reassuring, continuous support—emotionally, practically, and informatively. This support starts during pregnancy, continues through labour and birth, and into those precious early days postpartum.
Antenatal Preparation – Three Personalised Sessions
We’ll have three antenatal sessions (2–3 hours each), tailored to your needs and held in a relaxed, informal setting. These sessions are a chance for us to get to know each other, explore what’s important to you, and make sure you feel informed, confident, and calm as you prepare for birth.
Each session includes space for discussion, questions, and emotional support. Topics may include:
• Birth physiology – How your body works during labour, and how to support it with the right environment for you, your baby, and your birth hormones.
• Stages of labour – What you might feel during each stage and suggestions for how to navigate them, including tools and tips for your birth partner.
• Pain relief – A look at all your options, from medical pain relief to holistic approaches like acupressure, essential oils, and breathwork.
• Birth preferences – Helping you get clear on your wishes and translating them into a plan you feel empowered by and can share with your care team.
• “Plan B” conversations – Gently exploring how to stay grounded and informed if things take a different path.
• Easing fears and stress – Holding space for any fears, talking them through, and finding ways to soothe anxiety and boost confidence.
• Preparing for baby – Discussing feeding, newborn essentials, and the emotional realities of the early postnatal period.
• Personal topics – Every pregnancy is unique, and these sessions are a space for anything that feels important to you.
Optional Sound Healing + Relaxation Session
I also offer a one-to-one sound healing session at Mudra Yoga London (if desired) to support deep relaxation and help you settle into your body before birth. A moment to pause and connect.
On-Call Support
I’ll be on call from 38 weeks until your baby arrives—day or night. I’m here if you have questions, need to check in, or just want a reassuring voice. I’ll be ready to join you when labour begins.
Support During Labour
When labour begins, I’ll be by your side to provide emotional and physical support, such as:
• Breathwork, positioning, massage, and aromatherapy
• A calm, steady presence that helps hold and protect your birth space
• Guidance and reminders to help you stay connected to your body and instincts
• Support for your partner, so they feel confident and supported too
• Help with communication, making sure your wishes are heard and understood by your care team
I work respectfully and collaboratively with midwives and healthcare staff, always aiming to create a warm, supportive atmosphere for everyone involved.
After Birth
Once your baby is here, I’ll stay with you until you feel settled—maybe after a shower, some food, or just a moment to pause. I’ll offer gentle reassurance and practical help as you land in this new chapter.
Postnatal Visits
We’ll have two postnatal visits:
• The first, within a few days of birth—especially helpful if you’re breastfeeding or simply need support navigating the early hours and days. We can also talk through your birth, if that feels helpful.
• The second visit, usually a week later, is a check-in—space for reflection, questions, and anything you need. I can offer emotional support, light practical help (folding some laundry, holding baby while you rest), or simply a quiet space to talk.
This time in your life matters deeply. My intention is to support you with calm, kindness, and clarity—so that you feel empowered, held, and deeply respected throughout.
